THE BIG HELP PROJECT | PIVOT SUPPORTS MAJOR CHARITY

PIVOT SUPPORTS MAJOR CHARITY WITH THE PURCHASE OF TWO NEW APARTMENT BLOCKS TO PROVIDE HOMES FOR PEOPLE IN CRISIS

Big Help Project is a Liverpool-based, national charity. For over ten years, their mission has been to assist people in crisis into a better future… feeding the hungry, overcoming poverty, and freeing people from the burden of unmanageable personal debt and helping them with affordable housing – not just in Merseyside but in communities across the country.

With the country urgently requiring many more social or low-cost homes, especially for those suffering badly in the current economic crisis, as well as the homeless, helping a charity to facilitate the acquisition two sites of what will be very reasonably priced housing was a project the PIVOT team took to their hearts and worked hard over many months to bring to fruition as quickly as possible.

Our CEO, Shahil Kotecha, explained:

“This was the first time we’ve been involved in a charity project of this kind, and it gave us all a huge sense of achievement to provide the finance for something so worthwhile and important. The shortage of housing across the UK, both to rent and buy at a sensible price, is a huge ongoing problem; increasingly so with interest rates currently so uncertain and negatively impacting the property sector, and we are doing our best to encourage and support both landlords and developers tackle the housing deficit. However, funding a charity like Big Help Homes offered a different challenge to our more normal commercial endeavours and we are delighted to be doing our bit to help those who are really struggling in these current difficult times. I hope this proves to be the first of many such projects we can get involved with.”

Paul Banks, Trustee and Director of Financial Planning for Big Help Charity, discussed:

“I had already met Shahil through other work I’d been involved in and was keen to explore the possibility of getting his help to provide a credit facility to support the acquisition of more housing stock for Big Help Homes. He and his team have been pragmatic and sympathetic and gone the extra mile to support our efforts, and I’m delighted we have been successful. I can’t recommend them highly enough to other organisations requiring finance to do work similar to ours.”
